The Personal Service
There are hundreds of coding services out there, it's a very competitive market. Many of these companies use pricing as their main selling point, they try to undercut their competition. Codethatdesign doesn't do this, my selling point is the personal service.
I get customers come to me with some horrifyingly bad experiences with some really big names in this industry. One of the biggest problems they've had (apart from really bad code) is that there was no real sense of a personal service, this promted me to produce this special page here on the site for my potential customers.
When you go shopping and you're welcomed by a smiling face on the door and staff that are happy to help you out, you leave the shop happy and you come back time and time again. The majority of the business I do is for the same people over and over again, the same marketing/design agency even the same freelancer. Why is that? My prices aren't the cheapest on the market, far from it in fact.
I ask my clients from time to time why they come back and the reason they give me is that I don't give false promises, if I cant do something then I'll tell you that, if I think you should be using a CMS rather than straight HTML, I'll tell you that. My clients get to know me, they know that they wont get me on the phone before 11am, they know I'm a freelancer but still provide a professional service, they know that I will complete work on the deadline I set, they know that if I say I'll do something then I'll do it and they don't know me as Codethatdesign, they know me as Simon North. My USP (unique selling point) is my personal service.
